Puddle beneath Britannia Nebraska FF

A puddle has appeared beneath the fridge freezer
Having removed the cover panel at the rear which covers the compressor the cause is an overflowing “pond” of water sitting in the chassis. This in turn appears to have been fed from a 1/2″ plastic pipe running behind the freezer and bending upwards in a reverse u- bend
The problem appears to cease if the drinking water feed is turned off
Any help would be much appreciated
(A search online has failed to find any parts manuals or guides which could assist)

But in your opening post you said….

That would indicate that the water valve isn’t fully shutting off (i.e. Faulty) 😳

This is a GE made appliance and a common fault with this is that the pipe from the water valve becomes brittle over time and cracks.
If this is the case, then you need a new water tank which comes complete with the pipework.
The ‘pond’ of water has nothing to do with the pipework at all but is obviously in the same area.
Look around the water valve and at the bottom, probably 4 to 6 inches away from the valve, the pipework will most probably be yellowed and brittle.
