    Hi,

My name is David Coloma. I am an engineer student in Peru. I am making a research about the technology used in pumps for tumble dryers. I have been searching in the web and it seems that the pumps used in this appliance may vary a lot. Is this true? I though that tumble dyers didn’t have any pumps at all. Do you know what kind of pumps are used in tumble dryers and in which countries are used?

Hope you can help me 🙂

    Hi David

    Welcome to UKW 😀

If it is heat pump tumble dryers you are thinking of they are relatively new to the UK. A little deeper reading can be found here which may help you.

A little more info herefrom a while ago should help as well.

    HTH 🙂

    Re: Pumps for tumble dryers

I have read several articles about it. I have seen that in countries like Switzerland, Austria, Norway is a little bit more common. Hopefully the COP15 summit will help change this.

I have also seen that in some Scandinavian countries they use drain/lift pumps to drain the water from condenser dryers (mostly in apartments). Do you know who does it work in other countries? In Peru and I guess that in the rest of Latin America is unusual to find any kind of pumps in tumble dryers.
