I live in Denmark and have been told that I need to change the pump for my dishwasher. I have heard that a dishwasher may have more than one pump?Is this true?what would be the difference?
Most dishwashers have a recirculation (wash) pump and a drain pump for emptying the water from the machine. A very few machines have a combined unit for both functions.
We’d need a make and model to give a more exact answer 0 bear in mind that many European models do not appear on UK technical listings.
I have a Whirlpool 2004 DU850SWPQ0. I think its an American Version. Do these also use 2 pumps? Which pump is more common to break down?wash or drain pump?do they cost the same?
It would help if you gave a brief description of what the fault actually is. 😉
In 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of dishwashers the circulation pump is much bigger and therefore far more expensive than the drain pump.
The cleaning of the dishes is not the same as it used to be: dishes are not totally clean and have detergent/soap when I take them out. It also makes some strange noises while draining…
What can it be?I was told by a friend who knows a little bit about this that it could be the pump that is not working properly. Can this be a reason?
I have heard that the American dishwasher I use may only have one pump.
It’s a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} US appliance, Pancho; we can’t tell you much about it. However, our American friends over at http://appliancejunk.com/forums/ will be able to advise you.
