We currently have the ART 477/3 Whirlpool 50:50 Fridge Freezer and need to replace it. We are looking to purchase the Whirlpool ART 4500 50:50 Fridge Freezer. The overall dimensions of the fridge freezers are the same (Height, Depth, Width). Does this mean it will fit with our integrated doors or do we need to take more detailed measurements?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Michelle

Nice and easy one out and one in using the same doors 😀

The fridge and freezer doors are different sizes to the existing one. Won’t this mean the fixings on the cupboard door will not line up?

    Quite probably not Michelle.

Most will change in some way or another, even although the sizes might seem exactly the same as they are designed to fit into standard EU kitchen unit sizes but, there can be subtle differences even from model to model let alone from one manufacturer to another. The differences can range from a minor pain to a major pain in the a$$ to sort out.

The existing doors will fit to that or any similar unit but, you’ll have a bit of work cut out for you to fit irrespective on the brand or cabinet I expect. How involved that will be is difficult if not impossible to tell you without being in front of it.

I’d not go for the Whirlpool though unless it’s a case of there being no option. Also look at Electrolux/AEG/Zanussi as they do much the same sort of range but the support is, IMO, better and any parts not a stupidly priced.

If your budget can stretch to it though, go for a Liebherr, far superior to much of anything else. By a ways.

In the end, if you need to change stuff anyway, you may as well make it worth the effort.

    K.
