I usually put washing powder in with the clothes in the drum. Would this cause any problem?

(I prefer to do this rather than putting washing powder in the drawer, where residues accumulate. Also I always end up with some powder on the floor to be swept up.)

So long as you don’t overload as if you do, it can be a problem.

I had a fear the drum might do a few turns (making any powder in the drum fall through the holes) and then do a mini flush to get rid of any stale water (along with any washing powder).

Am I being too imaginative? 🙂

Generally, that’s not a problem but powder trapped in the laundry can cause problems if it doesn’t dissolve correctly.
