ParticipantAs I’ve said before on this forum, the evidence is Qualtex prioritise their retail online sales outlets such as LM Electrical on ebay, which by all accounts is doing a roaring trade. LM Electrical feedback shows an 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} uplift in number of feedback ratings on ebay in the last 30 days compared with the average number per month over the last 12 months. Average rating for despatch time over the last 12 months remains 5.0 out of 5.0, so they are clearly working hard to maintain service quality on these platforms during an exceptionally busy period, I suspect at the expense of trade accounts.

ParticipantI ordered a part through Qualtex’s LM Electrical ebay store on Friday evening, it was ready for despatch on Sunday and arrived this morning. So 5 stars all round for ebay feedback. This was on their free economy delivery service, which resulted in an £8 saving compared with orsering the same part on my Qualtex trade account.

ParticipantIt was only a matter of time, but it’s finally happened: Qualtex has closed my account. I had trouble changing my password and sent an email to ask for a password reset. Eventually got a reply (like 2 weeks later, and after asking again) yesterday telling me my account did not meet the requirements of a trade account, which it appears is a 5k annual spend…
By my calculation that’s £417 per month + VAT
I’d be honestly curious to know how many sole traders actually spend that much with one supplier? That’s an eye-watering number of carbon brushes, door seals and pumps…
Not to mention that they don’t have all the parts, so you’d still have to order from other places.
Yes, I know they no longer want your custom as sole traders. To be fair, I think I escaped the cull a couple of years ago possibly because I had a cash account.
There goes my ability to get parts same day (I was using click and collect, though at the moment it’s closed for the foreseeable).
So beware at password reset, make sure you don’t fluff it, or your account might be gone!

ParticipantThe message regarding limited operations due to CV19 is still on the home page for account holders.
However, Friday afternoon, after the 3pm cut off, I ordered and it’s just arrived. So, I presume they’re backto being fully operational with regards to trade accounts?
Oh, I also messed up my password change a while bacand it took a bit to get it changed. Didn’t get told if I was Gold, Silver or Bronz medalist 🙂 Probably copper with the amount I order from them.August 24, 2020 at 2:24 pm #469976electrofix

ParticipantNot best practice to allow an external system to store your old passwords even if it’s just the hash code.
These systems tempt users to select easily remembered/guessed incremental passwords or to record the password elsewhere.
Never could remember where I put that photographic memory

ParticipantI guess you can tell easily if you are on of the chosen few who can still order with Qualtex. Every single item is out of stock for me. So basically if it is showing stock for items, you can choose. I used to spend at least £1k a month with them before lockdown so god knows what tier I was but I honestly think its just random.
