Keep having to change these CS23 and CS24 hotplates after just a few weeks of use, they keep tripping the rcd or just give very low heat, they are universal so should fit most makes. Have just sent 3 back for credit, anybody else had the same?

I only fitted one, very poor quality, rim was uneven and didn’t fit cleanly on the hob. I haven’t ordered any from them since.

you’ve probably answered my problem. i fitted eight qualtex 180mm rapid plates to two lincat hobs. customer says they never get hot enough. the give away is that the red dots are clearly visible after two months.
i was beginning to doubt if i’d wired them correctly. i’ve always assumed that all plate terminals are the same. please tell me if i’m wrong.

i have spoke to qualtex on numerous occasions regarding the CS23 and CS24 hotplates, every time they said nobody else had reported the problems i was having with them. I sent back at least 6 faulty hotplates and they credited me. Since then i have only ordered the hotopint equivalents and have had no problems, they are just slightly more expensive. I will never order the low quality qualtex ones again.
