Been selling to public for years, trade and public counter. Pain when your stuck behind Joe public on the counter. But they do charge retail prices to non trade, so not under cut and don’t tell them how to fix it (I think)….but like every one else need the sales, and if it means it enables them to supply my needs. Good luck to them. Nothing that’s not been done before.

Oh dear, should not be a problem as I think this is just a sideline to selling to trade, as long as they don’t go the way of Masterpart who now have nothing in stock as its all sold to the general public.

Just checked Qualtex and ASW for a stat.
On Qualtex OUT of stock but to purchase £4.10 plus VAT and postage.Approx £14.50
ASW..IN stock £10 inc p+p
Who are they catering for, trade or public? I know if I need more parts it would work out cheaper but why can’t they do a cut rate delivery for one off small parts. The other thing is why in stock on ASW and not on Qualtex?
I think I need to chat to their repJanuary 17, 2017 at 8:56 pm #415629Bryan

Just came across similar situation, Hotpoint heater element part no C00255452 out of stock with Connect, Masterpart (shock not) and Qualtex but their off-shoot ASW has part in stock apparently.
A few quid more expensive…..perhaps I’ve just answered my question of why they’re keeping stock for public sales ahead of trade sales?

ASW orders are despatched from Qualtex’s North East Depot, whereas online trade orders are generally handles by Manchester, so stock availability does vary between them.
The range of parts available from ASW seems a lot narrower than Qualtex, so I suspect they focus more on consumer volume selling lines, such as those widely advertised on Amazon, ebay, etc.

All of the spares distributors have at least 10 – 100 different public selling web sites where the parts are cheaper to by than the trade cost.. I very rarely buy from the trade account as the parts ore cheaper than the trade cost without vat. Delivery is about 2 days but sometimes next day and its free delivery.
