ParticipantHi,
Iv just bought the new Hotpoint Slimline Model SDL510p / Serial No 007088377 36685960900
Is this model any improvment over the dreaded last Hotpoint model (SDW60) the one with the dodgy PCB.
Would be interested to find out.
Many Thanks

Early days Simon on this gem but being as it has a heat/pump unit I would advise you do make sure to put salt in the softener unit. Hard water can be it’s biggest enemy without it… 😉

Thanks for the reply, and yes i have already decided that salt will be added to the water softener.
Are the multi tablets ok to use also with Rinse Aid – this Machine actualy has a Multi Functional Tabs option – not quite sure what its suppoed to do but it has this feature.
Thanks Martin.

It lengthens the total wash cycle to ensure full dispersal of the various tablets ingredients.(i.e power ball rinse aid etc) I recommend trying it without using that option. Only if the results aren’t as you would have hoped to then switch this feature on. 😉

THIS is basically the exact same machine.
Like your last one it is in fact 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} imported Indesit, why on earth did you buy another one. 😥
Already suffering lots of heater and PCB failures. :rolls:

Ah, I see, you should have asked us first. 😉
A five year warranty contract may be a good idea if it a reasonable price.
If it is possible I would advise removing the mains plug or switching it off at the socket or isolation switch when not in use.

Well the post I linked to is the first instance of one of these setting on fire that I have heard of. It could just be a one off, isolated incident but over the years certain dishwashers, particularly Zanussi did have tendency to ‘ spontaneously combust’ 😥
Lets face it, one fire in a newish appliance is one to many. :rolls:
