ParticipantMy old washing machine (a Bosch WFF 2001) is on its last legs and we’re looking at replacing it with an ISE 1607. I’ve read a couple of reviews, and the wash performance and the general build quality seem exactly what we want, however I have a more asthetic problem ….
The “new” machine needs to fit into a space which is basically the same as my old Bosch, Width-wise I have may have 1 or 2mm to play with, height should not be a problem, but the ISE seems significantly “deeper” than the Bosch.
So my question is, how much clearance does the ISE need at the back ? can it be fitted flush to a wall with any pipes / electrical connections hidden, or will it need some space (and if it does how much ?).
As an aside my Bosch has the inlet pipes on the top right, and the waste on the top left (as seen from the front), where does the ISE have its connections ?
Thanks,
Raj.

I have an ise10 and have it positioned about 100 mm out from the back wall – this is mainly due to wanting to leave plenty of clearance around the waste water standpipe at the back and the waste piping leading to my utility sink.
Your normal worktops are 600mm deep so it depends if you want the washer to be fully under the work surface or sticking out a bit.

Thanks,
That’s useful.
Looks like the ISE is marginally narrower than the Bosch, and if the lid extends beyond the back, I should be able to push it further back.
The waste should plug into a spigot in the adjacent base-unit (on the right), so as long as the pipes don’t get fouled I think I’ll be ok.
From the diagram and descriptions it looks like the ISE only takes a cold inlet – Is this correct ?
– I have both hot and cold available in the adjacent base unit – don’t see why the washer should heat water when I have a tank of the stuff upstairs in my airing cupboard.February 24, 2011 at 10:08 am #345359kwatt

Hi Raj,
Yes, cold fill only as almost all machines are these days and, here’s a much more detailed explanation of why that is.

:waving: Raj,
The lid extends approx 4 cms over the connections. I cant be pulling mine out to check that this makes everything flush to go against a wall (have to move a very heavy f/f) but i think it would.
Excellent choice of washer BTW 😀

Do the supplied pipes (inlet & waste) have elbows on them.
– According to the diagram they do, but from looking at some of the other posts, this does not seem to be the case.
I made a mistake about the width, the ISE is about 5mm wider than my Bosch, it should fit, but it will be a bit more of a squeeze.
I’ll see if I can find one to “look” at this weekend.
– don’t know what i’ll see though – probably just another big white box 😛Raj.

The access to my kitchen is between two kitchen units at right angles. My old ~standard width Ariston left OK, just, but the new ~standard width ISE 10 was too wide by about 10mm.
Solved by temporarily unscrewing the cupboard doors from the units on each side but was a nervous couple of minutes – an ISE is way too heavy for the delivery men to lift over kitchen worktop height!
