    I can’t get the drawer for the laundry detergent open. Is there something special that I need to do to open this drawer? Thanks!

    I can find a WXLS1640 and a WFB 1640, both of which are washers, not combis. Please have a look at the inside of the door for the full model number and post back.

    The full number is WDI1640FF. It’s actually in France, so I don’t know if that matters. It’s in the apartment that I’m renting, but the instruction manual is in French and I can’t find anyone here that can help me, so I ended up at this UK site, which is at least in English.

    Not a big deal if you don’t know the answer to the problem. I’ll just keep putting the detergent directly in the machine.

    The UK version is WDI1640GB/01, if you phone BSH Appliance Care on 08705 543210 they will be able to provide you with an English manual (not available to download).
