Can you help, please. I have a thermostat (K59-L2683) which controls an LEC fridge/freezer.

I have obtained information from the internet which explains how a K59 thermostat works, but can’t find anything which explains the significance of the L2683 part of the thermostat reference. Can you explain what L2683 means as opposed to L2103, L2196, L4088 etc.

I’d be surprised if anyone can give you the information you need. We don’t get so far into the numbers on the side of the stat to be honest.
What is it that you need? What’s the problem with the appliance?

    Eldar59, thanks for your reply.

The thermostat is from an LEC fridge/freezer (model T5576W, Serial No 0710447928). The freezer compartment is working correctly, but the food in the fridge is freezing solid. From what I have read, the most likely cause of this is a faulty thermostat. The Thermostat (K59-L2683) which is fitted in the fridge/freezer at present will cost £45 to replace, and I wondered if one of the cheaper generic K59 thermostats could be used instead.

Most universal thermostats will not fit a LEC as the numbers on the dial will not line up.

Many thermostat kits come with a new knob and knob insert with numbers on, so you can align the settings on the new stat accordingly.
