KeymasterWell I’ve had a bit of time to stop, take stock and think on shit over the past week and I can’t report that all is well.
Major points
1. Network
We have to quietly get a network, we can’t be brazen about it as it’s far too politically sensitive an issue to be balshy about. We will do it, just quietly and in out own time and the reasons for this are legion but the primary one is that if we do it wrong then we may kill ACH before it breathes.
We need ACH and I’d far rather that is was “accepted” before we move much further or mention the dreaded “network” word. I have a shitload of reasons for this but I’ll simply point out that we have to walk before we can run. I have a plan there, but it will take time to implement however, Rome wasn’t built in a day and we have to be in a position to call the shots I think.
Once we are, the world is our oyster but we daren’t freeze out those that will unwittingly help us for now.
2. Training
Most urgent! We have to show success here, this is the primary goal over the next three months. This simply has to work as it gives so much for zero cost to us, so we have to show it working.
3. Appliances
Long-term this is the future for us in more ways than many realise I feel. It could actually be the very salvation of this trade and not just in the UK. We have to ensure that this works if we want to see a future in this industry.
4. Meetings
We have to promote these as much as possible without being too “in-your-face” about it, more encourage people to come along.
With regard to September we already know that I have to give what is, basically, a keynote speech incorporating the launch of the brand as well as the progress of UKW as a whole. That will be after lunch as we want people to stay this time, we learn from past errors, let’s save some of the juicy stuff till after lunch this time.
Apart from the sheer numbers, which is easy to recite, what else do we want in there? Do we want to get across the primary network etc. or do we want to leave that?
The appliances and the numbers are easy, explaining the concept with passion and conviction is easy for me as well. Standing and telling a crowd that and getting the passion across may be a challenge, just hope I do okay.
5. Premises etc.
Dave I need to know which way CES is going to go and I need to know by the time that Nursery St is online, it’s that simple and blunt. I know you don’t want to be the bad guy, but needs must I’m afraid. We need the revenue from spares as soon as possible and we need to make that profitable, which is not a problem in itself I know, we just need to know which direction we’re jumping in.
Either way, you will have support.
6. ACH
I can’t jump up too much about ACH until Paul is out of Modus, once that happens then the race is on. We have to be the first to market and we have to lead the pack, if that costs money then we have to spend it and that means we have to acquire it from somewhere, which is where the spares revenues come into play to a degree.
7. Qualifications
Sean can you review and condense the Terry Tudor stuff for me, I need the bare bones of it as soon as you can give me it please?
In short, we all have a shitload of work to do and we need to crack on with it ASAP, and we have to do it right. Yes, I know the grammar is poor, but it’s late and I’ve been having a talk with a very old friend of mine however, I’m sure you get the gist.

KeymasterRe: Random Thoughts
I sent an email last Monday for you to read and I was hoping we could bounce it back and forth during the week to establish the idea.
Its to do with building the primary network, when you have chance Monday afternoon have a look and we can chat about it.

Terry Tudor stuff (EESTC) sent to Sean.
CES, I’m not playing the bad man, I explained it at Grantham, make your fecking mind up 😉 “Hang on in there for a while” and now pressurising for a final decision 😕
CES’ premises (in part) could well suit UKW’s needs either currently or at any given point and well in to the future. My old man is 60 on the 21st of this month (he may or may not retire, I’ll await his decision and then make a move 😈 ). The insurers and the brokers are visiting on the same day, if they agree to the final claims, it could well pay off the overdraught, or most of it anyway. Which, if both the above come off then it’s my playing field to do as I wish as far as CES goes, the only thing to finalise would be the building, again discussed at Grantham, this would remove the need for UKW to hire new premises. All I’d need to do is install a “swipe” machine for UKW only and allow some space for UKW spares stock, no problem at all. Please let me handle this one, I know what you’re saying but 😉
The main point we are lacking in which didn’t get a mention is keeping P&G sweet with the third trainer as far as I can see at the moment.

I would have to agree with Dave in that, at this particular moment in time if we have a single priority it has to be to, find the third man.
Time is against us and P&G are the ones floating our boat at the moment.
I know that there have been a further couple of enquiries but we dont know if either is suitable yet. The P&G training is scheduled for early August and a sucessful new applicant may well have to give notice with a current employer. We all know that Dave’s committment is beyond question, that said he also has to be careful how he withdraws from CES or he may very well end up with a millstone round his neck. Remember we’re not just talkin’ business here, we are talkin’ family.
