ParticipantHi everyone I wonder if someone would be kind enough to offer me some advice? After our stoves cooker died we bought a secondhand Rangemaster 110 Dual fuel oven (times are tight!) alledgedly in perfect working order, however the fan oven just never seems to get up to temp, it gets pretty hot but the “on” light never goes out to show it is as the required temp and stuff just not cook. We are having to use the conventional oven which seems to work fine.
When we bought it we were told the element had been changed in the last few months is it possible to get a duff one? If not what else could it be?
Thanks in advance for any advice, if its something complicated does anyone have an idea how much to get a pro to look at it in the ipswich area? I’m hoping its a duff element
Thanks again
Matthew

Either the element or the stat Matt.
The fan element should be easily checked with a meter and it should be this fan element that’s in it.

Brilliant thanks, I’m kinda assuming it the element since the light is on the whole time (the other oven it goes off when at temp). How do I test the element? I’m assuming it should be a certain number of ohms?
Thanks everso for such a swift reply/
Best Regards

could be slow running fan, fan motor problems are not uncommon on rangemaster

Thanks thats an interesting suggestion, I didn’t know the performance of the fan was that critical, the element does look quite new and certainly gets too hot to touch almost instantly.
How would I gauge if the the fan is slow running or not?
Three good suggesitons but my lack of expereince mean testing these three ideas is going to be tricky as I don’t know what is
correct running.Thanks again

You can only really tell by comparing with one which is working correctly, i.e. with experience. Generally by the noise its making as it shifts air. Bit difficult to explain here I’m afraid
