Hi, the fan in my oven has become problematic – when the oven is turned on sometimes the fan fails to turn, sometimes it’s slow then speeds up when the oven gets hotter. Is it likely to be gunged up or is it something else? I’ve taken off the plate in front and it turns freely by hand.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Fan motor is on it’s way out – classic symptoms.

There are various versions of the 110, so find and post the serial number (it’s usually on the chassis – remove warming drawer to view) and Dave should be able to advise you which motor is required.

Even though the fan may turn easily by hand, the motor coil or bearings may be worn or faulty. Lubrication with WD40 will burn off in minutes; grease and oil are both quickly displaced and largely ineffective. A new fan motor is the only real long term answer.
Try the ‘Shop @’ link for a replacement part.

Thanks for the advice. Is the fan motor on one of these cookers difficult to replace typically?

The hard bit is getting the damn thing out! Screwdriver job otherwise.
