Ive recently been to a Rangemaster 110, Serial 6826120586, with a report that the grill, which is above the left hand oven, gets hot when the oven is in use.
Spoke to Rangemaster who said that this is normal and to use the heat for warming plates.
Having looked at it myself the grill gets that hot you cannot touch the plates that are ‘warming’.

Has anyone come across this problem?

Seems abit strange for Rmaster to say that this is normal, I would not expext and element to be coming on like that
I think I would be sticking a meter across the element to see if there is a voltage present, sounds to me like a faulty en.reg. Also do a megger test on the whole appliance for earth leakage

Yeah could be caused by a earth leakage, some of these cookers now have direct live cable to element & neutral is switched, this can cause problems with certain supply types and/or if house wiring is suspect.
