ModeratorAnyone know about rangemaster fridge freezers? Chinese made, model SXS black 7912 000191 Have an over cold fridge compartment, large build up of ice on the rear panel. Looks like this one has a evaporator in the fridge, no obvious sign of a temp sensor.
thanks in advance.August 15, 2012 at 5:27 pm #379489raw

Available from Connect Mark – the power to this valve is pulsed not constant – if you have a analogue meter, connect it across the valve terminals and you should get a pulse every 30 seconds. If not then you may have a pcb fault.

is it powered up to divert to the fridge or powered up to close off the fridge circuit?
who makes this anyway?August 15, 2012 at 7:13 pm #379492Dales-Electronic

As I understand it it is pulsed to the fridge when required but the priority is to the freezer. Haier 8)

do you know the expected votage? assume its mains I read about 5 volt across the coil. suspect then pcb is ok as its not powering up the valve as would be expected when the fridge is cold enough.

well, thanks to all who responded, the diverter valve was changed and cured the problem, Thing is, the door open alarm is now going off randomly.
According to the instruction book, the door alarm does not sound for any other reason other than for the door swtiches and no error codes show on the display.
Both door switches operate the light and fans fine so dont think it is them. Is there a reed switch anywhere?
or can anyone shed any light on why the door alarm should keep going off?
anyone have a service manual or diagram?
thanks in advance once more. -
