ParticipantHi All
How do you go about doing a bearing change on an Indesit WD 12 S UK With the Metal Drum and rear Carrier. Never done one before. What do you have to remove, and what do you have to replace. Presumably spider only pushes through seal does it have to be changed ? Cheers for any advise

Pulley bolt and 8 bolts for the crosspiece off, give the shaft a thump and it should come out backwards. If the shaft is damaged, you’re looking at a tank replacement. Be careful – the tank itself is made of Bacofoil.

Quick Tip…. Remove soap draw and belt then lay machine on its back with door open, preferably outside, fill with a good quality compost and plant 3 geraniums and a some trailing lobelia in the drum.
For added effect the filter housing will take a small Bergonia bulb and the soap box will look stunning with Bacopia trailing from it.
Dont forget to set machine on a rinse cycle every other day.
I have found during the winter that the machine covered with a polythene tent and the dryer switched to low temp, out of season tomatoes can be sucessfully grown. An Italian variety such as Merlonias Indish*tias seems to do well ………
A Titchmarsh.
