Keymasterhi there,
I have a problem with my wasking machine. On every cycle at present there is a small puddle of water coming from under the machine. It happens usually during the middle of the cycle. I have pulled out the machine and there is no obvious leaking signs from the pipes and no water at the back of the machine. Could it be the pump, and if so how expensive will it be to replace, or is it better to get another washing machine. It is only 2 years old.

Hi Spurs1,
Obvious things to check are the door rubber for holes and also the state of the soap drawer and box. Water can (and does!) trickle down the front, round the door opening and appears on the floor in the middle. If you need more specific advice we will need the model number of the appliance (right hand corner of control panel.

Pumps rarely leak, unless the filter isn’t fitted correct!
Pull out the soap drawer and check for a build up of powder as it may leak when its filling up.But if you can afford to replace a washer after 2 years (I must be in the wrong job!) a repair is much cheaper check out repairs@ or directories for a local engineer or contact merloni (ariston) as you do have a parts guarantee

I have checked the door rubber and soap drawer and box. No obvious problems I can see. The model no. is AWD 12 S Advantage.
Could there be something stuck in the pre chamber which would not easily be able to come out. I have checked it twice but nothing can be felt.February 4, 2005 at 8:05 am #125002Martin

Spurs1,
It sounds to me that the hose that connects the dispenser to the tub is leaking. Usually at the point where it connects to the tub 🙂
Cure = New hose to be fitted, check repairs@ to see if we have an engineer covering your part of the country.

I have contacted ariston and a service engineer will be calling tomorrow. I’ll let you know how I get on.
Thanks for you help. 😉February 8, 2005 at 1:10 pm #125004admin

the service engineer came out this morning it said it was leaking from the soap dispenser unit. I have to wait for it to become available in stock and then they will replace it.
