ParticipantHi, Our Miele G674sc dishwasher flashes the inlet/outlet red light and stops after a few minutes into a wash cycle. I assuming it should be able to display a fault code but I’m unable to get it to do this in spite of trying various sequences of button pressing suggestions as found on the web. I know its old but I’m assuming it will do this?
Can anyone give me some guidance?
Thanks

ParticipantThanks for the info but it fills fine and I can make it pump out ok as well without showing any lights. The outlet pipe is clean and the circulating pump can be heard working before it fails. With the base removed the circulating pump is free and the heater element has continuity.

Moderatorit may be filling but does it know that ?
there is a sensor on the inlet that measures the water if this goes faulty it does not know its filling and gives the fault
when in the programme does this fault happen ?

ParticipantIt stops about 2 mins into the wash cycle which starts after the fill cycle has stopped so I’d assumed it had completed the fill cycle and stages up to there?

Moderatorsometimes machines continue to fill as its washing
you need to check if the water stops flowing in well before it failts out

ParticipantThere is a definite clunk as tthe fill stops then a pause then the wash cycle starts.

ParticipantJust to close the thread—the problem turned out to be a faulty pressure switch on the circulating pump. After changing it the dishwasher worked but did all sorts of strange things like filling and emptying at the same time. Eventually removed the low pressure fill switch and this had water in it also the tube. Also removed the flow sensor and checked the reed relay which was ok
Works fine now. I put the dishwasher on its side to remove the pressure switch, perhaps this filled the switch with water—perhaps I should have put it on its back instead?Peter
