traic has 2 legs you can get a reading from the 2 out side ones but you should get nothing between the middle on and either of the other 2. measure both ways as it can go half wave

also it may not be the board. went to one house with a Zanussi with motro triac error ended up the motor was covered in condensation and the slight earth current upset the board

I have resistance on the outer 2 that’s what makes me think it isn’t the main board this is one off a dc machine with the rectified at the bottom the old pcb had motor action just wasn’t completeling cycle must be duff pcb then:rolleyes:

Hoover nextra the traics normally blow to bits if a component is faulty think the machine is ber 14 years old and I’m no good with a soldering iron lol

Traics can go short between the 2 main terminals and also have leakage so you put a multimeter across them and you get a high resistance reading

soldering traics is easy. the improtant thing is to get the correct tools
A resonable iron no more than 25 watts
desolder braid which suck up old solder
flux which can help the solder flow when being taken off

    and solder to resolder it

give it some protice its worth it as have resurected many a board. have just replaced an 16 leg driver chip on a hotpont dishwasher board. will find out if it works when i put it back. if it work its extra charge, if it fails then its scrap as unless you can programme it and i cant
