    Hi,

I posted previously about a faulty Indesit WIDL126 Washer Dryer viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3796

However the day after (Tuesday 22nd Feb) the engineer phoned up and said they would be replacing the washing machine. However I emailed Indeist/Merloni today and was told it could take up to another five days for a replacement.

I just wondered if this is a reasonable time to wait, the machine has been faulty since, and was reported on Thurs 18th Feb. An engineer came on Mon 21st. Is 2 weeks too long to wait from “fault to fix” ? The machine is six months in to its warranty.

Is it actually possible to speak to someone at Merloni? They phoned and left a message on Saturday asking me to let them know where I got the machine from.

I emailed them, and have tried phoning them. However I get fed up after 30 mins on hold at 7p a min on their 0870 number.

    Dan,

A little patience is called for here after all you’re well in front having them agree a replacement. 😀

It is always the suppling retailer that has a direct responsibility to you the consumer and NOT the manufacturer!

The logistics of dealing with what appears to you as a simple replacement often is not quite so easy for any manufacturer, and indeed is a very costly transaction for them 🙄
