    Hi,

My parents need a new vacuum cleaner and I at first got them a GTech AirRam which was too hard for my father to push around, so we sent it back. Just got a new VAX for them (CDUP-ADXA) and it was even worse, I couldn’t even push this on carpet the suction setup was so hard that I had to lean into it to even move it. Argos have reluctantly taken this back after I suggested a carpet cleaner that won’t move on carpet is not fit for purpose.

Can someone please recommend me some alternatives as it’s not looking like I’ll be able to buy and return again if it’s not suitable. They didn’t like the AirRam as it was too hard to move and also they didn’t really like the fact it wasn’t plugged. So I am looking for it to be

Upright (with detachable part for stairs etc if possible)
    Plugged
    Not very powerful
    Not too much suction

    Any ideas?

Many thanks for taking the time to read this

    Paul

oreck used to be great for older people but there website does not seem to show any. got a feeling they were stopping in the uk. you may find one on ebay somewhere
you could look for a cleaner which has power control to reduce suction

Sadly corded machines are getting less due to consumers demanding lightweight cord free ones.

Manual carpet height adjustment like the Hoover upright, downside of that machine is the weight. The Daewoo FLR00049GE could be a good bet 🙂
