Reduced foaming when using antiscale tablet

I got some washing machine antiscale tablets by mistake (I thought they were dishwasher tablrts). You are supposed to put one in each wash. I do regular maintenance washes so these wouldn’t do much for me.

However I did try one and it reduced foaming very significantly. Would this adversely affect my wash performance if I continued this to use up the packet?

No it wouldn’t but how effective they are in reducing limescale build-up remains questionable.
