ParticipantHi all. A few days ago this frost free fridge (that never gave me a problem in the past) stopped refrigerating the fridge section (while the freezer was still working fine). After having inspected the evaporator area in the freezer section if something was wrong I then moved to the fridge section where I discovered that the fan behind a panel was loose due to a break of the plastic support. I quickly fixed it (while sending in for a replacement) and powerd the fridge back on.
Now the fridge section was working fine again but – for some reason – the freezer section won’t go below 0° C (to the expected -18° C) and the alarm sign is on. After a couple of days, I re-opened the evaporator area which this time was frosted. I let it thaw and restarted the fridge. After a few hours it looked as if the fridge had gone back to normal (no alarm sign etc.) but 24 hours later I was back to square one: Alarm sign on and 0° C. in the freezer section.
What can possibly have gone wrong?
Thanks

ParticipantSomething is not right with the model number !! Will not allow access to bosch`s part site based on that model info you stated.

ParticipantSorry it was the way you wrote it with a gap between the U and the 4 and me copying and paste. Does the freezer actually fan work? Could be part 00602671 freezer sensor ntc OR the freezer thermal fuse part 00172296. A bit of a guess on my part but it is something to go on at least and based on a similar machine that I used to get sentenced to work on years ago: Ariston 4 seasons (nothing but hassle) frosty free f/fzr from the same era as your Bosch.

ParticipantThanks for your reply andyjawa. I’m glad to report that a few days ago I finally found the problem: it was the freezer thermal fuse part 00172296 .. or rather one of its 2 wires was broken/disconnected, and only when I tried to unplug it to test it, I realized the wire was loose. So I just soldered the broken part and that’s it. This fridge was driving me nuts.
Thanks man!
