Hello, my 10+ years old Quadro no frost refrigerator has stopped cooling today. All I can hear clicking noise go on and off every few minutes or so (I assume its compressor).
Basically I can hear weak click noise going on and then louder click 10 seconds later (which I assume its shutting off). Fans and lights in fridge are working without issue.

This issue also happened a week ago when it also stopped cooling but it appeared to resolve on its own over night and it continued to work “normally” (still there was some clicking noise but way less often) and today it stopped cooling again and clicks every 5 minutes or so as I said at first. Display panel has some error code “F005” which I have no idea what it means. Today refrigerator repair men visited and he said compressor has died out and said that replacing it with new one and his work time will cost me around 140 euros. I have also been reading that potential problem could be starting relay which would be far cheaper, but I am not sure. As my fridge is quite large and same one (in size) would be easily 650+ euros (which I don’t have right now) do you think its worth for me to repair this old one, and do you think maybe issue is different then the compressor? Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like the compressor has seized and is unlikely it is the relay as it clicks on and off.
if a relay fails the The compressor normally remains silent..
As the fridge is 10 plus years old in my opinion it would be better to purchase a new one.
If you replaced the compressor then the other parts are over ten years old could give problems later.
Plus other things to consider are why did the compressor fail was it just age or was there a blockage in the system or a refrigerant leak.
You also need to factor in the cost of the food if the repair did not last long if it failed due to a blockage or leak.
I would put the 140 euros towards a new one.
I hope this helps you decide to repair or replace.

Now that you mention it, drain pan was full of some dark water and oil like substance….

If it had an oil like substance then it is possible you had a refrigerant leak this may be the reason the compressor seized due to loss of refrigerant oil.
