I’m trying to find out some models for refrigerators (not a freezer) that can operate in a garage, where the temperature can get near zero 0C. I’ve tried to find out this sort of information on manufacturer web sites but they never seem to cover this spec ? Can anyone suggest suitable models ?
    Thanks
    Tony

Not something you can do in the UK I’m afraid. A good read from our site here explains the why’s and wherefore’s.

Beko fridge/freezers work successfully in temperatures as low as -15C. They refer to it as ‘Freezerguard Technology’. Both my Beko fridge and fridge freezer operate fine in my integral garage where temps get down on average to -5C mid winter.

However Beko do state that their fridges need a minimum ambient temperature of 5 degrees C. Freezers are good to temperatures as low as -15 degrees C.

I speak as I find Don and I have not had a problem with either my freezer or fridge-freezer, and for that matter my wine cooler during the cold winter nights. Tony’s need for a fridge located in near 0C ambient will not have a broblem by buying a Beko.

Call me cautious if you like but I like to cover myself , things have a nasty habit of coming back to bite you on the bottom 🙂

Depends on the model, the setup of it essentially and how it was designed to operate.

There are also other machines, surprised you didn’t know being a Bosch fan, like some BSH machines that have an auxiliary heater to make them work in colder ambients. But, it’s a fudge.

You still cannot get around that perrinal problem of condensation on differeng surface temperatures… I know, pyshics, it’s a bitch eh? 😉
