Refurbished appliances

Hi,

what are people’s thoughts on purchasing refurbished appliances (often returns, or ones with minor cosmetic damage)? Are there any potential risks to be wary of?

I’ve had a look on ebay, and I can seem to get the appliances I’m after for significant savings, and in many cases with the original warranties (I think they are slightly damaged stock, but otherwise ‘new’). For example, I’m considering an integrated Bosch fridge/freezer for £350 instead of £500, with a couple of dents on the front door (which would be hidden once installed anyway), and its original 2-year warranty – any reason not to?

It’s not the appliance brands themselves, nor big retailers, but smaller ‘discount appliance’ stores that I haven’t really heard of (but with good feedback on ebay).
