    Do you know of anyone who takes old washing machines for refurbishment or spares in the Glasgow area?

    That probably depends on whether you want some money for it or not.

    It’s an Electra 1200 deluxe, the model number is 17051 and the serial number is 05100597. The drum isn’t turning though the pump, dial and everything else seems fine, fitted it with new brushes with no joy, so I’m left guessing it’s the diodes?
    As for cash well it’s never turned down! lol But not a must.

    It sounds like you might have forgotten to release the retaining tags on the brushes if they were Hotpoint type in plastic holders (motor on rhs @ top of drum). Easier to sell machine that’s working via local rag free ads .

    No that was done, but thanks for the input..anyway the poor old thing is gone to washing machine heaven now. May it rest or spin in peace. 😀 David
