    Guys,

    I wonder if any of you experienced folk could confirm what the relay circled in the image below is for.

    I’ve pulled this out of a machine yet after testing all the machine’s components can not find anything wrong, is it likely in this case that it was the relay that blew on its own accord, or would something have caused it that I’ve missed?

    from looking at the print on the board this relay goes straight to the motor triac. it is likely the motor could be the source of a problem

    to be certain you need to buzz the wirs through to see where they go

    relay common connects to connector J9 term 3

    normally closed goes to the motor traic

    normally open goes to conn J9 term 7

    not sure of the fault you have but this is a reversing situation, so if 1 relay sticks then you can get high currents flowing as the motor tried to run with a shorted aramture or field coil
