    Hi,

I am trying to replace/repair a broken button on the command panel and need to remove the cooking top. But want to check I’m not going to damage anything in the process as I haven’t done this before. The model number is 948905517.

If I remove the two Torx screws at the back of the cooker and the three at the front (underneath the front stainless steel baffle). Followed by the 8 screws holding down the burner assemblies, and then remove the 12 ones securing the control knobs and bezels. Will the top just lift off without disturbing any of the gas lines or fittings? Are there any other fixings that I haven’t mentioned that need to be released before I can get access to the command panel?

    TIA,

    Ian Mc

this is a gas appliance you must have a gas safe registered engineer to look at it.

Or I could just fix it myself, as the work didn’t involve the gasway and was on a consumer control device.

Have to agree, would be easy to disturb a gas injector or pipe
Would definitely recommend getting a gas safety engineer to do it
