doing bearings on one under warranty but its turning out to be a pita

already snapped up 2x T40 bits, and mullered a torx allen key, second time round we used a heat gun paintstripper, but to no avail. yes, theyre tight, but ive never had this problem on a zanussi or hotpoint pulley.

in the current absence of a gastorch, anyone have any tips ???

Statesman told me a year ago that they don’t do bearing work under warranty so it may be worth a phone call before you break any more tools.

i have done 2 bearing jobs for statesman under warranty, 1st one supplied rear half and inner drum, 2nd call only supplied bearings and drum support, just give it a whack with a hammer first then try, had to do this on many indesits too, they use loctite and you need to break the joint by force first. 8)

heh, this wasnt coming out at all, ended up hacksawing 2 flat ends onto the pulley nut, and using a spanner, so ho hum. am interested to see if my repacement torx from halfords pro range will snap under 10.9 nf 🙂

A decent pair of mole grips around bolt does the trick. 😉
