Can anyone tell me the best way to remove vinyl decals from my van. I had it done last year but think I overdid it. I thought of a hair dryer but not sure if it will damage the paintwork.
    Thanks

    Hi

    Use a wallpaper stripper.

Used a hair dryer on mine or hot boiling water. Or you could ask a sign writer.

    Re: Removing van decals

I use a paint stripper blade like this: –

Just carefully ease the blade across and under the decal. It will not scratch the coated paint surface provided that surface is flat and the angle of the blade low of course. Clean off the remaining sticky adhesive with white spirit and a clean cloth. Once removed a coat of wax polish will restore the van’s paintwork like new again. 😀

Yes wallpaper steamer..no damage,no scraper, it’ll just peel of with your fingers.

    Re: Removing van decals

    Hi

Just had a new van,so i had the same problem.

Hair dryer with a stanley blade worked a treat except for the reflective stickers which would not budge.

Ending up taking the van to a body repair place and they removed them for me and did a very good job.

    Re: Removing van decals

Done it with a hair dryer in the past, just start on the corner of the decal and the glue will soften, then move it slowly around the decal while pulling.
    Simples. 😉

I had a chuckle with some comments 8)
Luckily it is only individual letters so will try my steam gun and the hair dryer but don’t trust myself with the Stanley scraper
