Renewing vehicle tax online

I don`t know if this is of any interest or not, but you can now renew vehicle tax online.

DVLA check the vehicle is covered by insurance and has a current MOT certificate. You can then process by debit card. However there is a £2.50 surcharge for credit cards. New disc arrives in the post 5 days later.

Nah! not yet Mark, still working on that idea though. Had a chat with a lovely lady in Eire (Alliance & Leicester call centre staff member) last evening. Apparently their interest rates on accepting credit/debit cards is only 2.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and I’m being stitched up by Lloyds TSB at the moment for 4.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}….!!!!

So watch out as soon I may well be in a Post Office queue with the old biddies helping me stuff my earnings under the counter. 8)

Alliance & Leicester looks to offer a good deal over the big 4 But I did read that the online banking wont be fully operational till March so I will apply then.
