ParticipantWent to customers house to swap a rangemaster fan motor, customer told me she had rung 0800 number from the yellow pages, chap on other end of line said he knew what part was needed and that they werent cheap…….
£320…………. plus fitting at £100 for the first hour !!!!!
She couldnt believeit when she rang the manufacturer and all they wanted was £140 inc parts.
Nice work if you can get away with it, I make that around £400 profit if she had gone with them.January 19, 2010 at 7:19 pm #309164Madmac

Companies earn money from the freephone numbers and several others.
0871 numbers earn around 7p a minute.
Being left on hold to complain is a great earner if your a major player sell rubbish to idiots.
You should get one, all added income.

Did a Falcon today, both fan motors and one gas tap replaced, total about £180 and I was there about an hour, I must put up my labour charge of £80 plus vat for a range cooker if they get away with that !! 😯
Rangemaster/Falcon parts are are not very expensive considering the cot of the appliance, fan motor from Connect is about £12 plus vat !! :rolls:
