ParticipantHere goes….
16/02/11 Got a job through for a Samsung W/M with fault description as ‘not spinning’. Call to job cleaned out the filter, hey pressto now spinning perfectly, everyone is happy!
07/03/11 Got a job through for a Samsung W/M with fault description ‘Drum not going round’. Looking more closely I see that this is the same customer as above, this is a RECALL job.
Thinking that the filter is probably blocked again off I go… when I get there the customer says that there was a clicky clunking noise and the machine has now stopped. Apparently brought up a fault code but she doesnt remember what it was!
The problem I think is in the Bearings, bit of an odd one, but thats not the point of this tread. The point is that I contacted Repaircare and explained the above and that this is not a RECALL job as its a completely different problem. I was told the following
‘ as this is a coverplan job, the policy states that because the second fault has occured within 28days it is a RECALL job regardless of the nature of the fault’My first thought was OK I will put it as now unrepairable, but was told that I would loose the labour for the first visit…..
I think it maybe time to say TA TA to this unprofitable, unreasonable Unsomething else company!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok rant over

Unfortunately it’s the nature of the job, at least Repaircare are only keeping you for 28 days. I think we all have a few customers who blame us for ANY subsequent problem on the machine, even months after the first.
If I had a pound for every time I’d heard “Well, it was working fine before your engineer came out and touched it” I’d be rich .

There are a lot of Repaircare agents who are totally fed up with them.
As Blokes says totally unreasonable uncaring profit driven organisation.
Reduction in the rate, the motives of which are questionable.
Imposition of guarantee rules that they once proudly said would never happen.
Screwing down agents on credits & returns where they take 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on goods returned where the job has been closed by Repaircare, or where there has been a write off due to the delay THEIR end.
Debit notes where machines have been exchanged internally or by Currys and they then decide not to pay the last call, including the parts you fitted
No serial numbers on products. Repaircare give a generic one, pay up only to take the money back again in 3 months as “serial number incorrect”
They have got a lot of the loyal repair network by the danglies and they damn well know it as some of the poor souls that do their work are committed by size and staff levels.
They don’t respond, they don’t listen & they don’t bl00dy well care.
Makes me seethe!

I wonder… If they were invited to comment on their rediculous actions of late, if they would actually oblige……

Coverplan will pay again for any fault due to ‘Customer Misuse’ under the 28 Day whole appliance guarantee… 😉 So make sure you don’t ever unblock pumps, do tub changes due to tub damage caused by items in pockets etc for free under this rule! Ring them, put ‘Customer Misuse’ all over the job and you’ll get paid for that unrelated issue…
