All subscibers are members of Repairs@, and as the subscibers account tops £5,000 at the moment they could easily afford the contribution.
But, perhaps this is me being old fashioned about things (I’m ready for all the slag comments, that statment merits), I’d rather see all agents chipping in £25.00 to benefit each other, shows unity, committment, a belief in what we are doing is correct.
You should all sleep on the quote from yell.com where they almost guarantee to increase the hits to repairs@ by 6500 PER MONTH.
In the morning if you can come up with a reasoned argument for not investing (risking) £25.00 of your hard earned, then don’t.
But make sure your extremely “shamed faced” when UKW chips it in for you and you profit from it!
Not that we’ll notice 😉

I think what David was getting at was using what had been paid in subs already to fund the £25 thereby negating the need to collect from those that already have money in there.

I have this morning added a load of brands to Repairs@ and then trawled through every single member of Repairs@ sorting a few things. There’s still some maintenance ongoing but here’s the rough points.
Where a repairer has selected to repair any and all makes, all the new brands have been added automatically and you don’t need to do anything.
If you have deselected even one brand, NONE of the new brands have been added to your profile.
Now to the bit that sits in this thread…
As I suggested this is being worked as a co-operative venture in so far as promotion of Repairs@ is concerned and, with all the new people on board, we should be able to actually lower the price of advertising to everyone already. Pretty neat huh?
Advertising is scheduled to go live in January 2006.
More info will be emailed to all Repairs@ members in a short while.

How does the order work when more than one company covers an area? I notice an unheard of service company, some 20 odd miles away is selected by default when I try my own postcode (on several products/makes) leaving me bottom of the drop down list despite, obviously, being literaly on the doorstep? No wonder my e jobs have petered out lately.

Has the dust settled since Mark raised his last point I wonder? (Multiple listing for one Postcode area that is)…being looked into I guess?
I am still unsure as to what exactly the yell.com listing (how does it work exactly?) in relation to Repairs@ and the likes of eastlmark being at the bottom of the list and the expected flood of enquiries? 🙁
I’m also somewhat bemused at many that answer the publics enquiries without adding or even mentioning Repairs@.Now I think that whilst they are all very clever and helpful at diagnosing their problems (thumbs up to them*), unless Repairs@ are mentioned by them as advisable, some poor bugger is likely going to loose yet another job to the POWER OF THE INTERNET 👿
Very clever stuff indeed!!!!
* I’m giving away prizes to anyone that spots whenever I fail to refer the public towards Repairs@ by the way 😈

Part of the code has to be re-written to resolve that problem Martin. Sadly that doesn’t happen in a few days.
Yell is banner ads on Yell.com, people look up something in that section and at the top there’s a banner ad for us.
And Martin, you being a bit bemused is situation “normal”. 😉

Better I should use less restrained terminology to get my point across next time 💡

I reckon what we need is all the available service companies for one area displayed, rather than a drop down that defaults to the top one, that also shows their location town alongside the business name, then the customer can chose the most local one or whatever one they want.

how about regular post answerers changing their signatures? see below, then no need to worry about forgetting Martin, could even add the safety bit too.
