Hi hope someone can help. I have a Bosch HBN3550gb/02 oven where the grill element has gone. I have tested the the grill and get no continuity signal via the two terminals. I can take the terminal wires off the grill connectors but there is a third unsheathed wire coming from a tube/rod to the side of the actual grill. This wire does not fit on to a terminal but moves in and out but will not come out fully. Not sure what this is as I cannot get it out of the tube or if a replacement will come with the grill replacement that I have found on this site but the picture shows the tube but not a wire. Hope someone can help. Thanks

Re: Replace a Bosch grill element

It is the main thermostat and it’s the capillary you see and are trying to remove. It will need great care not the kink or fracture that in any way as the gas in it will escape rendering it useless.

I would advise you replace the element AND that thermostat to be sure all is well on reassembly.
