OK, this may be a dumb question but I have to replace the thermostat on my Schreiber APP6302 integrated fridge. (nee Hygena, Servis, Creda et al).

The thermostat is relatively easy to get at but the tube disappears off into the bowels of the cabinet. Is the only way to replace the tube to tape a piece of string to the end of the old one and pull the new one back through or am I missing something obvious?

The last one i changed the tube was simply in the fridge compartment.

    Thanks a lot.

You cannot seperate or bend too much the capillary or you will render the stat useless. So you have to track it down.

IIRC the stat fits into an internal tube in which case the old one will simply pull out. Be careful to get the new one straight and it should push in ok but as has been said already, make sure you don’t kink or compress the phial or it will damage the stat (when you try to straighten a kinked phial it invariably breaks)

    Thanks to both of you.

Yes, the capillary slides into a tube – ridiculously easy when you know.
