    I have an old Hoover washer/dryer model HSWD 146, Serial number N3100108305401 1500. My son has tried to replace the broken door handle but cannot remember which small slots the spring fits into. There are 2 small square slots nearest to the front of the door and two just further back. I would appreciate any help if possible. Thanks.

    The spring hook ends sit in the front square slots. The spring flat side against the metal probe the raised edge of which points outward. A nice fiddly job for nimble fingers and plenty of patience. 😕 🙂

    Thanks for our reply. You mention a metal probe, is this the catch, which fits into the locking device on the machine, mine is plastic. Yes I think patience is the answer or in this the problem !
