ParticipantHello everybody! May I take advantage of the mountain of knowledge on this forum?!
I got back home yesterday, only to find that the washing machine has become very noisy. Drum bearings have had it, and considering they were changed two years ago, I am loathe to do the job again – especially as I have been offered another machine.
The “other machine” is a 5 year old Bosch Maxx 1100. It looks in smart condition, but I wanted to know what you guys think about this model. Is it built in Germany or elsewhere; and also what kind of problems are associated with this model? I know it’s asking how long a piece of string is, but do these machines last well?
Oh, the other thing is that the Bosch is a 1100 spin, wheras the small drummed Zanussi is a 1200. Does this make much difference?
Thanks for your advice!

Hi Rob
Stick with the Bosch machines a good 1200 spin machine like the WFC2467 or it`s partner the WFX2468 can be seen here Bosch. These come with a two year guarantee too.
Bosch have recently been awarded by `Which` the accolade of providing the best range of appliances in their class with the best service backup.
A Bosch customer is a happy customer :D.
Your`e local retailer will be eble to offer the best advice and service.

Found out! It is a WFL2260. Are they any good?? Are the built in Germany & are there any known weak spots?
Many thanks again!

Hi Rob
😳 🙄 Must have had a senior moment.
The Bosch maxx 5year old machine in question is a german built appliance. If you look at the current range you will not see a lot of difference between them, no point changing a winning design. As long as you look after it, ie keep filter clean and do a 95 degree wash with nothing in it say once a month to help keep it clean internally it should go for quite a bit yet.
If you enter the model number in the search at the top you might find other postings 😉
Hope this helps

It’s OK Don, you are a star! thanks!! Are they prone to any particular faults such as drum bearings? also, how easy are they to work on? Are the infamous bearings a nightmare for example?
Many thanks!

I must admit we don`t see many Bosch machines. I can`t remenber the last one we did a bearing change or anything else major.
If you keep popping back here over the weekend, there are others more qualified than I who may want to add their own comments on this one 😉
