I have a call to replace the ceramic hob top of the above induction hob damaged by the kitchen fitter after installing.

While looking for the seal that fits between the hob 00689775 and worktop which looks like 00267971 I noticed there are about 5 different ‘sealants’ listed plus a lubricant. Can some explain what the different sealants/lubricants are for and whether I will need anything else other than the ceramic top and seal mentioned above?

They refer to Ottoseal S70 and each sealant you see listed are the different colours depending on the countertop colouring. (Buy sealant from the web not BSH as they put a 200{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} mark up.)

BUT if you read the installation instructions you will see that they say NOT to use any sealant according to the illustrations on Page 24. It just clips in.

    Thanks Martin.

So is the sealant used instead of the sealing strip supplied with the hob originally?

    Sorry Martin,

I missed that part of the post, I was trying to multi-task at the time.

    Thanks for the help.
