    I have a Sub_Zero refrigerator with no freezer compartment: model 201R Serial number M474788 requiring 10 oz of R12. The capillary line has broken off the Ranco K59-P4814 thermostat and I cannot find a listing for it in Canada. Is there a replacement model that might work?

    The evaporator is a simple serpentine coil behind the rear panel over which air is drawn by a small fan. There is no defrost feature. The thermostat has only two hot wire connections in addition to the ground.

    there are several universal stats that will do, a VT9 or a W4 will replace your stat
    Both available from the shop@ feature and a dozen other on line sellers.

    Thank to KHEATH for the tip on the VT 9 thermostat. I picked one up yesterday and installed same. By this morning the temperature had stabilized at 1 C. I will tweek the dial to get it to 3 C, which is in the middle of the 0 to 5 C range.
