Hello, I’m trying to replace the water inlet on our Siemens SE24201GB/07 (FD7802) dishwasher.
    http://www.briandale.co.uk/images/1-original-water-inlet-in-situ.jpg
I’ve ordered a replacement from Siemens (original part no. 298656). Apparently that’s no longer available and they sent their substitute (part no. 448903).
However, as you can see from this picture http://www.briandale.co.uk/images/2-both-water-inlets.jpg the connections on the left for the rubber connection tubes that go to the drain hose and water softener are larger and won’t fit the hoses.
I’ve called the Siemens spares people (BSH) and they say the part number for the rubber connection hoses (165258) hasn’t changed so I presume they are the original size and won’t fit.

Has anyone any advice on how to connect these parts up? I’ve tried and tried unsucessfully to speak with someone technical at BSH – but they say there’s no one.

I wondered about trying to clean all the gunk out of the original water inlet – has anyone managed to do it? I’ve tried washing up liquid, shaking and poking wire around which has worked a bit – but I wondered about some drain cleaner – then thought it might affect the plastic! I’d be grateful of any thoughts from the group on how to clean out the original inlet baffle or fit the replacement new one.

Take the black rubber tubes off the drain hoses. On the ends of each grey hose should be a black rubber ‘O’ ring, simply push those grey hoses into the new matrix unit. The ‘O’ rings should therefore make the connection watertight. 🙂

The old matrix can be cleaned by using a strong bleach solution and leaving it immersed in that solution overnight. A high water pressure hose attached afterwards should clean it out nicely. 😉

Thanks Martin – I removed the hoses and fitted the o-rings. It works a treat. I wondered what those o-rings and clip supplied with the matrix were for!

I also now know how to clear a bunged up matrix.

    Cheers,

    Brian
