    Hi,

The washing machine’s drain pump seems to be seizing all the time and we can only get through a wash by draining all water and spinning the pump’s impeller. I’ve tried to replace the pump but can’t manage to get the front panel off! The front panel seems to be deeper than washing machines in guide videos and I seem to have missed a screw hidden somewhere.

Any guidance/schematics would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    John

Pump access via REAR panel removal. The pump is a bayonet type fit, twist anti-clockwise to remove.

    Many thanks Martin!

A while ago I did try accessing the drain pump by removing the rear panel. However the pump was quite hard to manipulate from the rear. It’s probably because I didn’t know what I was doing. I was tempted to cut the plastic sill that’s under the washing machine and gain access from there but thought I should check UK Whitegoods first!

Guess I’ll give the rear panel another shot. Any further tips on making the drain pump replacement? Should I use a wedge to move the drum further away to increase my working area?

They are very fiddly on this range with the solid base. Particularly if the pump is a screw in type.

How I do these is to ‘carefully’ remove the pump cover off the new pump, then the field coil. This then leaves the impellor part on its own which can now be fitted first.

When removing the old pump you don’t have to be careful you can just break the cover, slide back field coil then twist or unscrew the impellor part.

Thanks Tim. Whoever designed this washer dryer should be shot (or maybe I just have fat short arms). An access hatch under the front cover or absence of a bottom sill would have made this such a simple replacement.

Hope I don’t have to separate the impeller from the field coil to get this in! The twist fit pump is below.

Just a gentle twist by about 10 degrees anti-clock and the whole unit (your link shows) pulls away. 😀

Many thanks to all, especially Martin! Was able to finally twist off the drain pump.

I ordered the replacement pump from ukwhitegoods but they sent a M109 pump instead of the M113. It seems to be compatible and is working in our washer dryer. I wouldn’t have accepted the substitution from a less reputable supplier.

Overall I’ve had a very possible experience of this support forum and associated online shop.
