    Hi all,

I’ve bought a replacement element to fit to a friend’s Belling SHU50 hob. Not having had a chance to look at the old element, I was expecting the new one to have just 2 terminals (+earth). It’s got 4 + earth, though, numbered 1, 2, 4, 3 in that order. Does this sound right, and what are the extra 2 for? And will it be obvious which wire to connect to which (eg wil the old element have the same numbering scheme on it?)

I haven’t had a chance to look at how the old element is wired in yet as it’s not my house, and I’ll have to remove the oven to get to the underside of the hob. I want to know exactly what I’m doing before I go round to my friend’s to fit it, so that I can do the job quickly and in one visit.

    Thanks for any info,

    Alan
