    Hi
The oven I inherited in my new house has stopped working. From reading up on elements failing it seems to show that this is the culprit, RCD tripped, temp light on , fan on but no heat. The oven is a Kompact BCE601s and before trying to order the part and for the first time ever try and fix this myself I am unsure if I will be able to do this as all my research shows there are usually four screws (one each corner) to remove from the back panel, however I can only see two screws on the bottom of the back panel , is this common . Has anyone any knowledge of this model and could offer help before I purchase spare which looks to be about £40. Thanks

    Hi,

Yup, the back panel is often “hung” in place with the screws there just to stop it from going anywhere.

Sounds like it but, if you take the panel off you’ll be able to get the element out and check it to be sure.

Often you will see visible signs of damage, yes. If that’s the case it’s easy.

If not, a multimeter is your friend.
