    Hi,

Unfortunately the detergent drawer front panel of my Ise W256 is rusting and causing the drawer to stick. I am planning on buying a replacement, but I just wondered how difficult it was to replace before ordering it, does it come off easily? Also, will I need any other spares to get the drawer functioning normally again?

    Thanks

It does seem to be an area that is prone to rusting sadly. Over the years I have had to attend to my W1607 a couple of times for this issue. Fortunately my drawer is a pull out type so I have been able to remove it and rub down the rusted areas to the bare metal then repaint them using widely available white enamel appliance paint. Not sure how you would manage with your pop out drawer?

    Thanks for the reply.

I thought it might be better to replace it with this part https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/8076072-detergent-drawer-cover but have no idea how difficult it would be to install. I think using enamel would be tricky to colour match.

Never actually changed one but I think the old metal cover can be prised off it’s locating lugs.

I will buy the part and give it a go, if I’m unable to prise the old panel off I will have to sand the rust down and repaint it.

    Thanks
