I had a bit of good luck today.
During a routine repair to a Zanussi washer, I meggared the machine before starting the diagnosis with my good old faithful Robin insulation tester. The customer, looking over my shoulder, said “I’ve got one of those meters in my loft”.
“Not one of these” I replied, “this is a special high voltage insulation tester. A bit different to your normal test meter”.
He dissapeared and came back a few minutes later with a brand new, Robin K3131DL insulation tester still in its original box. It had never been used! I bought it off him for the price of the repair. What a result!… A brand new Robin test meter for the price of a pair of brushes!
Made my day!
I was in hastings last week and had my brand new boxed one nicked from my van, are you any where near there ?
