Rosieres DB 4040

Hi There I noticed that back in 2005 you had a post on the site from a guy called dan that had exactly the same cooker as me and you helped in making his oven work correctly. Therefore, I am hoping you can help me.

The problem I have is the oven doors both left and right do not close properly. I have had the oven for a few years now bought second hand and need to get it fixed.

I have been looking at new door hinges, however I am not sure if this would solve the problem. Could you please advise me if you have had this problem reported before and if so please let me know if this could be the problem.

Also the silver knobs on the oven get ever so hot when the oven is on and has subsequently the glue has melted and the silver knobs have come off. Again is this a normal problem.

The button of the let hand fan oven light has got so hot that it has split in half – can i get a replacement for this?

Hi Natalie,

I’d suggest replacing both the hinges and the runners or supports. Essentially the runners usually go, cause the hinges to run off true and they then break and, for all the additional cost of them, you’re as well just to do it. I’d also suggest not mucking about with it, replace them all and be done with it for a number of years, we always replace hinges in pairs, never singly.

This is the runner and you need one for each hinge.

There is a stock issue with the hinges right now so we’ve taken them offline until that’s resolved with Rosieres and a couple of other distributors but it should be fixed inside 24 hours. We just don’t want people ordering them expecting them in two days when we know it ain’t gonna happen. I’ve asked Dave to update on that as soon as possible for you, which he will do here as soon as we know what the score is.

The knobs for these cookers are simply horrifically priced, they always have been and they do go in the way described after a number of years. You need to select the right one for the function.

Thats great thanks for your help could I please order the hinges and the runners for both ovens? How do i go about doing this? You gave me the link for the runners but not the hinges can you please give me this link so i may order the correct ones? If I add the runner to my order cart do they come as a pair or single?

Yes I meant the neon light button?
